Terms & Conditions
Art Classes Port Macquarie

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings, classes, workshops and events provided by Art Classes Port Macquarie (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By booking or attending a class with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Bookings & Payments
1.1. Bookings are confirmed only once full payment (or any required deposit) has been received.
1.2. We accept bookings via our website, email or phone, subject to availability.
1.3. Prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) and are inclusive/exclusive of GST [edit if needed].
1.4. You are responsible for ensuring that your contact details are correct at the time of booking so we can send you confirmation and updates.
2. Cancellations & Refunds – Students
Please read this carefully before booking.
2.1. If you need to cancel your booking:

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the class start time:
-
You may request a full refund, or
-
Choose to receive a credit towards a future class (subject to availability).

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the class start time:
-
Your fee is non-refundable, as materials and staffing have already been arranged.

In some cases, at our discretion, we may be able to transfer your booking to another date, subject to availability.

2.2. No-shows (not attending without notice) are not eligible for a refund or credit.
2.3. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your booking to another person (friend or family member) at no extra charge. Please notify us by email so we can update our class list.
3. Cancellations & Changes – By Us
3.1. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class or workshop if:

Minimum numbers are not met;

The teacher is ill or unavailable;

There are circumstances beyond our control (e.g. severe weather, venue issues).
3.2. If we cancel a class, you will be offered:

A full refund, or
-
A transfer/credit to another class or date.
3.3. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by you (such as travel or accommodation) due to cancellation or rescheduling.
4. Class Attendance & Conduct
4.1. Please arrive on time so we can start and finish the class as scheduled.
4.2. We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a participant to leave if their behaviour is:

Disruptive, unsafe or offensive;

Under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol;

Poses a risk to themselves, other participants or staff.
No refund will be provided in such cases.
4.3. Children or teens may attend only where the class description specifically allows it, and may need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian as indicated.
5. Materials & What to Bring
5.1. Unless otherwise stated, we provide essential materials for your first class (e.g. paints, basic brushes, palettes and surfaces appropriate to the class).
5.2. For ongoing classes or second and subsequent sessions, your teacher may recommend that you bring additional brushes or materials depending on the subject matter and your personal goals.
5.3. Any specific “what to bring” requirements will be listed on the class page or discussed with you via email or in person.
6. Health, Safety & Allergies
6.1. You are responsible for following safety instructions provided by your teacher during class.
6.2. If you have any allergies, sensitivities or medical conditions that may be affected by art materials (e.g. solvents, pastels, certain pigments), please let us know before the class.
6.3. We aim to provide a safe environment, but you participate in classes at your own risk.
6.4. Please wear appropriate clothing; art materials may stain and we cannot be held responsible for damage to clothing or personal items.
7. Photography & Social Media
7.1. We may occasionally take photos or short videos during classes for use on our website, social media and marketing materials.
7.2. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let your teacher know at the start of the class and we will respect your preference.
7.3. You are welcome to take photos of your own work and the class environment, but please be mindful of other participants’ privacy.
8. Gift Vouchers
8.1. Gift vouchers purchased from Art Classes Port Macquarie are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
8.2. Vouchers may be used as payment towards eligible classes as specified on the voucher or our website.
8.3. Each voucher will include an expiry date in line with applicable laws, and must be used before that date.
8.4. Lost or stolen vouchers may not be replaced, so please treat them like cash.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1. All teaching materials, class plans, images and content provided by us remain our intellectual property and may not be copied, reproduced or used to run your own classes without our written permission.
9.2. You retain ownership of any artwork you create during our classes. We may ask for permission to photograph your finished work for marketing purposes; this is always optional.
10. Liability
10.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or expense you may suffer in connection with:

Attendance at our classes or workshops;

Use of our website;
-
Any act or omission by us, our staff or contractors.
10.2. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude any rights or guarantees you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
11. Privacy
11.1. We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11.2. By booking a class or contacting us, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in that policy.

12. Changes to These Terms
12.1. We may update these Terms from time to time.
12.2. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
12.3. The version of the Terms in place at the time of your booking will generally apply to that booking, unless we agree otherwise.
